Responsible for finance in a multi-entity and multi-country environment. Performs month end closing & ensure integrity of all legal entities accounting. Responsible for statutory reporting & financial & management reporting. Interface with HQ finance in Montreal (Tax, Treasury, Accounting), auditors (external & Internal), tax consultants and other relevant internal & external stakeholders. Familiar MFRS / IFRS standards, tax & local regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities (Malaysia and Indonesia operations)

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, journal and expense accruals.
  • Preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss and full financial statements. Maintains general ledger module, reconciliation of account balances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare the Month end reporting – (MOR / Month end package / MBR/ FA details / FA Continuity/Monthly computation for sales & indirect taxes / BNM Statistic Reporting for all the entities handled).
  • Maintains accounting controls by updating, recommending, and ensuring alignment to HQ policies & procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to MFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Statutory audit report preparation inclusive of consolidated financial statements. Manage & liaise with auditors, company secretary/legal in ensuring regulatory deadlines & compliances are met.
  • Liaison with tax agents & HQ tax team. Preparation of tax package & schedules. Support & liaise with tax agents for tax compliance.
  • Prepare management reports and other ad hoc reporting.
  • Provide support to the business and other departments.
  • Preparation of cashflow forecast and liaise & interface with local banks & HQ Treasury team.
  • Support Finance Manager for preparation of the budget and forecast exercise.
  • Support projects as and when assigned.


Qualification and Skills


 Education & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ICAEW / CIMA / CPA / MIA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a multinational organization, with exposure to multi‑entity and multi‑country environments.
  • Strong ability to handle a full set of accounts, including month‑end and year‑end close activities.
  • Confident self‑starter with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards and principles (MFRS, IFRS, etc.).
  • Experience in month‑end close, statutory reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Ability to work independently while providing guidance or support to junior team members when required.


Skills & Attributes

  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong ERP and IT systems knowledge; hands‑on experience with Oracle Cloud is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with sound judgement.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong finance and business acumen, with the ability to interpret financial data into insights.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement of processes and controls.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
